“I have consulted Ms. McNertney on numerous legal issues over the years and she has always offered expert advice with a strong dose of compassion. I would recommend her anytime you find yourself needing a good defense attorney!”
– Marta, 01/27/2015
Ms. Eckert was admitted to practice in 2001 and holds licenses with the Washington and California State Bar Associations. She is a highly sought-after criminal defense lawyer because of her dauntless, relentless and committed advocacy for her clients.
Criminal defense was Ms. Eckert’s niche since the outset of her career. Prior to her admission, she started out at the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office in 1999 as an intern. After her admission to the bar, Ms. Eckert continued with the Public Defender’s office as an Assistant Public Defender to sharpen her skills before opening her own successful criminal defense practice. While in private practice, she was simultaneously a Professor of Legal Writing at Lincoln Law School. Ms. Eckert also provided in-house counseling with the California Department of Social Services that included drafting regulations and legislative bills.
Now, having 18 years of criminal defense experience under her belt, Ms. Eckert enjoys and has a passion for representing clients in all facets of Washington State prosecutions to include domestic violence, sexual assault, drug crimes, etc. Ms. Eckert knows that regardless of the charge, it has potential life changing ramifications for our client and their family. As such, she states it is critical that each case not only receives her individual attention but that her client is comfortable and educated on the process.
After being retained, Ms. Eckert goes through an in-depth analysis of her client’s case. She states that every case presents its own unique set of facts, which is where attention to detail is paramount because it is within those facts that Ms. Eckert piles up the missing pieces to weaken or sometimes even negotiate to dismiss the prosecution’s case. If the case proceeds to trial, demanding the presumption of innocence until proven guilty from juries and effectively showing the deficiencies of the prosecutor’s case are her top priorities.
When you combine Ms. Eckert’s attention to detail, experience and communication skills, you get one of the best criminal defense attorneys in Washington.
